Gaven State School opened in 1995 in the hinterland area of Gold Coast North District. It is situated approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane and 15 minutes from Southport. Gaven State School services the areas of Gaven, Gaven Heights, Oxenford, Pacific Pines and Studio Village.

Directions
From the motorway travelling north:
- Take the Gold Coast Hwy exit
- Turn right onto Heslop Rd
- At the lights turn left into Binstead Way
- Follow Binstead Way, going through the roundabout, past Jubilee Primary School and through the lights
- At Pinevale Drive turn right and go through the first roundabout
- At the second roundabout turn left into Universal Street and take the first left into the council car park in front of the school.

From the motorway travelling south:
- Take the Gold Coast Hwy Exit
- Turn right onto the Gold Coast Highway (2)
- Follow Binstead Way, going through the roundabout, past Jubilee Primary School and through the lights
- At Pinevale Drive turn right and go through the first roundabout
- At the second roundabout turn left into Universal Street and take the first left into the council car park in front of the school.
